With hurricane conditions hitting the Bahamas this weekend, Cruise Waves reports on the response from the Royal Caribbean, MSC and Carnival.

More updates on Hurricane Dorian will be published as the situation develops.

Royal Caribbean

Schedule changes to: Harmony of the Seas, Symphony of the Seas, Empress off the Seas, Navigator of the Seas and Mariner of the Seas.

  • We closed CocoCay on Wednesday, August 28th, 2019, and plan to reopen it on Wednesday, September 4th, 2019. Our CocoCay Team is made up of over 400 people, and the majority are locals. So, it’s important that they evacuate to care for their families and secure their homes, as soon as possible. We evaluated all options, and this is the best decision, as there is no room for error when it comes to the safety and security of our guests, crew, and employees. This is our top priority.
  • Currently, we don’t anticipate changes to any of our itineraries that depart on or after September 6th, 2019. Should anything change, we will contact impacted guests and Travel Partners directly.

MSC Cruises

Schedule changes to: MSC Armonia

The U.S. Coast Guard has informed that PortMiami, as well as other ports in the South Florida region, will be closed as of tonight, Saturday, August 31. After exploring multiple options in order to stay clear of the Hurricane and ensure the safety of our guests and crew – which is of utmost importance – MSC Cruises had no option but to extend MSC Armonia’s current cruise until PortMiami re-opens, currently anticipated for Wednesday, Sept. 4th.

Carnival Cruises

Schedule changes: Carnival Ecstasy, Carnival Liberty, Carnival Elation, Carnival Liberty, Carnival Horizon and Carnival Victory

Carnival Sunshine 2 Sept – Departing on Monday as scheduled.

Carnival Ecstasy 5 September – Still evaluating.

There is a possibility Carnival Ecstasy will not be able to return to Jacksonville on Thursday.  If the port is closed, the ship will be in position to dock as soon as the authorities have reopened the port.

Port Canaveral is closed to inbound traffic. We are optimistic the port will reopen by Thursday.

Carnival Liberty 2 Sept – This cruise is cancelled.  Guests will receive a full refund of their cruise fare and any pre-purchased items.

Carnival Elation 09/02/19 – Will now operate as a 2 day sailing departing Thursday 5th and returning Saturday 7th

Carnival Horizon 09/01/19 – PortMiami is closed and expected to reopen no earlier than Wednesday.    We now plan to operate a 3 day cruise, departing on Wednesday 4th and returning Saturday 7th.

Carnival Victory 2 Sept – Will now operate as a 2 day sailing departing Wednesday, 4th and returning Friday, 6th.
