AmaWaterways the leading river cruise operator that offers voyages in Europe, Southern Africa, Southeast Asia, and Egypt has provided Cruise Waves with an update on how Covid-19 is impacting its operations.
Speaking to Cruise Waves, Rudi Schreiner, president and co-founder of AmaWaterways, said: “As this unprecedented situation continues to evolve, we remain attentive to the latest developments in order to adapt our operations to best safeguard the health and well-being of our guests and crew. Due to continued efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19, we have made the decision to suspend river cruise operations through 30 June 2020, at this time. We are in the process of contacting all travel advisors who have clients affected by this new suspension date.”
He added: “We built AmaWaterways on the foundation of a conservative growth plan which we knew would ensure our strength in the face of any future challenges that came our way. While current events have forced this temporary suspension, the rivers continue to flow, and we are in a secure position to return, once we’re confident that it is safe to travel. Should the circumstances require, we are prepared to endure a full season of being unable to cruise.
“We look forward to the day when we’re able to once again welcome guests onboard to experience the magic of an AmaWaterways river cruise.”
